More cleanup under the hood stuff today. I redid the ad for the Enhanced Edition, did some minor changes to the appearance of the left rail on the home page, and have been updating content on the rails on a few pages through the site. Nothing exciting or dramatic.
Just cleanup work today, going through and cleaning up some of the underlying code. Nothing really visible on the site itself, unless you look closely.
Hey! Awesome News! Propheet at TheWitcherVault.ign reached out and offered to place our Temerian and Viziman business advertisements on their site! I suggest you check out their site, not only to see our ads up there, but also to check out the extensive new content being added! Since taking over the site management, Propheet has been hard at work!
Hey, lots going on this month, and so I did not update the dev diaries even while the site was getting updated. So here’s the quick update: Music and two new pages so far….
- The Boston trip was great, the conference was most excellent… and, yes, the food was awesome: I love seafood, love lobster, and the clam chowder was astounding.
- The site now has an MP3 player, courtesy of Anarchos! RedFlame contributed several mp3s of “music inspired by the Witcher”, including an unreleased song from the Strands of Destiny project. More songs coming soon.
- New PageThe Anarchos Prime Files. Thanks to Anarchos for all your work…In revenge, our Fearless Reporters reveal the truth about who you REALLY are!
- Wallpaper!!!! Our Bearded Dragon more or less cooperated in a series of photoshoots. After a wee bit of Photoshopping, we are happy to present the results Geralt Goes Dragon Hunting.
Enjoy!!!!
Our Travel and Tourism Editor has braved the slums of Vizima to bring you a restaurant review of The Hairy Bear Inn.
I’ll be out of town next week, Going to Boston for a web design conference! http://webdesignworld.com/2008/boston/
some graphics work, updated the “sub-story” image to show the latest game news (RotWhiteWolf). Went on a font hunt.
After an eternity, another update to the site…delay due to acquiring a notebook computer and setting it up, plus updating a computer includes installing ALL the software, and rounding up all my photoshop brushes, my fonts…. Long story short: another page added… the start of our travel section! After all, why should a wiki act like a wiki? When it can be tourism information! check out what we have to offer about fine dining at The New Narakort Inn
Yes its been nuts, its been hectic, and the computer is STILL not done being updated (I know, its taking FOREVER), but I have started updating content on the site. Check the left rail…. there’s a new fan art contest!!!! I’ve also begun giving bigger presence to our friends and fellow Witcher supporters: check out the new page for Two Martinis Productions , who so generously gave RedFlame Interactive a nice bit of product placement in their upcoming film.
Yes we have no updates to the site for a few days. Remember last week’s hard drive crash? And the shiny new hard drive that I ordered? Well, It arrived, and we started the install on the weekend. Here it is, Wednesday night, and I’m still working on the damned computer, reinstalling software etc. Lets just say that this weekend the installation of the new terabyte hard drive and the upgrade to Vista Ultimate did NOT go as smoothly as one might have hoped, and took a lot longer than planned. Its working now, but I am STILL doing my installs and updates etc etc etc etc etc. And I still have a long way to go.
Not to those who are interested in getting into computers: there are many other hobbies out there which are 1) cheaper, 2) less time consuming, and 3) better for your blood pressure. I strongly encourage you to consider any of these alternatives.
yes, even on a Friday nite, I code.
So tonight, I updated the ad module on the home page. It now rotates the ads. Next I probably should go through, cut the weight of all the images on this site. Which is becoming a SERIOUS BANDWIDTH HOG. It does seem to be getting a wee bit of traffic now. Yowza.
